Ripples of the Bullet examines the profound impact of gun violence through the voices of those most intimately affected: survivors, families, healthcare workers, and community members. Through first-person narratives and photography, this project is a zone for personal stories that illuminate how a single flash devastatingly resounds.
In 2022, gun violence claimed 48,204 lives in the United States, with more than half of these deaths being suicides. The crisis touches every community but weighs especially heavily on young people—accounting for 18% of all deaths among children and adolescents—and communities of color.
Rather than focusing on policy or blame, this exhibition invites viewers to share the human experience behind the statistics, fostering deeper awareness of how gun violence transforms lives and communities.
This prototype is designed to demonstrate the concept and test the installation. Interviews will begin in spring 2025 and continue through the summer.
